| Notes |
- Cecil Charles Morris MORRIS, CECIL CHARLES 1913 - 2004 Cecil was born in Great Falls, Montana on June 18, 1913, son of Nora Wirth Morris of Wolf Creek, Montana and Leon Morris of Butte, Montana. Cecil spent his summers on the Wirth family ranch in Wolf Creek, where he learned to trout fish from his father and his uncle Nick Wirth. The family moved to Los Angeles in the 1920's, where Cecil graduated from Washington High School. After building a house for his mother, Nora, he worked at Weber Showcase and Fixture Company. He rose to the position of foreman through the war years, and was then superintendent of a refrigeration manufacturing company before returning to the construction trades. He retired in 1970 after completing 16 years of service as a building inspector for the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety. After his retirement, Cecil and his wife Virginia moved from Bell, CA to Hemet, CA, where they lived until his passing June 15, 2004. Cecil hunted quail, pheasant and upland game for over 40 years behind the many bird dogs that he trained and wore out. Cecil's love of fishing continued throughout his life, vacationing in Montana and Idaho. In 1985, he and Virginia established a summer home on the Salmon River, where he fished and played golf well into his 80's. Cecil Morris is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Morris, Hemet, CA; sons, Jim Morris of Gardnerville, NV, Donovan Burke of San Diego, CA; grandsons, Craig Morris of Carson City, NV, Kenneth Burke, South Pasadena, CA, Glen Burke, Las Vegas, NV; granddaughter, Anne Morris Schnaubelt, No. Barrington, IL; 4 infant great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter. A memorial service will occur later this summer in Wolf Creek, Montana.
